GORDALE SCAR

GORDALE SCAR.JPG

  Oil On Canvas                          42cm x 30cm                              AUGUST 2022

Gordale Scar is near Malham in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

It was created during the Ice ages, melt water creating a cavern that eventually collapsed to create the waterfall and gorge you see today.

I painted this en plein air, using Bob Ross's liquid white ground, wet on wet technique, only my third time using this and first time when painting at the scene and not at home. My main aim is to speed up the time it takes me to produce an artwork and this was only about 3 hours, which for me is very quick!
